Q |
How do I know in which school district I reside? |
 |
A |
Newcomers are sometimes surprised at Oklahoma school residency requirements. School district boundaries are not the same as the city limit boundaries; they are totally independent of each other. An Oklahoma City address can mean a Choctaw school, a Mid-Del school, an Oklahoma City school, or a Moore school. Sometimes a Midwest City or Del City address can mean an Oklahoma City school or a Choctaw/Nicoma Park school. If you are moving to this area, it is very important that you use a Mid-Del School District map, which shows District boundaries. You don't want to be surprised after you have signed a residence purchase or lease contract. Military families are urged to check the boundaries for Tinker Elementary, which is a Mid-Del school, not a DOD school. Please call 737-4461 ext. 1304 to locate the school for a specific address.

Q |
May I transfer from another school district to Mid-Del Schools? |
 |
A |
Not all school districts approve transfers either in or out. Transfers depend on several things, including local board policy and availability of space and staff at the school you wish to attend. Oklahoma has an Open Transfer law which defines rules and timelines that must be followed. Click on the Residency/Transfer tab located at the top of browser for further information. |

Q |
May I transfer to another school within the Mid-Del District? |

A |
An intra-district transfer depends upon availability of space and staff at the school you wish to attend. Q |
How will I know if my child is eligible to ride the bus? |
 |
A |
Elementary students who legally reside within the boundaries of the school district and live more than one (1) mile from the school are eligible for bus service. Middle School and High School students who legally reside within the boundaries of the school district and live more than one and one-half (1 1/2) miles from the school are eligible for bus service. Students who transfer from within the district and those who transfer from outside the district are not eligible to ride a district school bus and must provide their own transportation. Students with special needs often require special transportation. This is available to all students with an IEP that certifies that the student is eligible for this service. Special Transportation Request forms are completed in the IEP meeting. Special Transportation Request Forms must be approved by the Special Services Department before transportation can begin. Specific bus information can be found at specific school sites. |
