Title I/Professional Development

The goal of the Title I program in Mid-Del Schools is to provide support and additional learning opportunities for students in schools that are eligible for the ESEA grant funding. We currently serve 16 elementary schools with reading specialists and extended instructional programs in each building.

Beyond the regular school day and school year, the Title I program provides:

•Math Labs open after school to boost math skills

•Lit Wit book clubs, guided reading groups lead by certified teachers after school hours

•Tutoring programs for students who need additional support in reading and math

•Summer programs to help students continue their academic growth

•Parental involvement activities to promote parents' active participation in their students' education and school activities

•Professional development opportunities to keep our staff on the cutting edge of research-based strategies and programs that are proven to be successful in raising the achievement levels of all students in Mid-Del Schools

The Office of State and Federal Programs holds Consultation Meetings with the local participating private schools periodically throughout the school year. Additional meetings will be planned as needed to disseminate information about grant opportunities.
