Everything You Need to Know About EOI's

What are the EOI's?

The EOI's are  state mandated  tests given in various core curriculum classes to test the students'knowledge of those subjects. 

 

Which courses have EOI's?

Beginning in 2008-2009, students entering the ninth grade are required to pass 4 of the 7 EOI tests offered.  They must pass the EOI's for Algebra I and English II, along with the 2 other tests (Algebra II, Biology I, English III, Geometry, and United States History).

 

What happens if I do not pass one or more of the EOI's?

If you do not pass the EOI, (you have to attempt it twice) then you can complete a project. The projects will differ by subject but will take approximately 20-30 hours outside of classtime.  They will be graded by a committee (at either the school or district level).  You must complete one project per EOI failed.

 

 What is covered on the EOI's?

Each course has a set of PASS standards (Priority Academic Student Skills) that teachers use asguidelines for their lesson planning.

How are the EOI's scored?

 

 Satisfactory, Limited Knowledge, or Unsatisfactory.  Students must score at least Satisfactory to qualify as passing.  For more information go to this website: http://www.sde.state.ok.us/AcctAssess/core.html
