HIV / AIDS Prevention Education

In accordance with Oklahoma state law and Oklahoma Department of Education guidelines, HIV/AIDS education takes place in grade seven and in Biology I courses at the high school level. Prior to this instruction, parents will be notified of a scheduled district-wide meeting, during which the curriculum will be reviewed and any questions and/or concerns will be addressed. A parent (or legal guardian) has the right to request that their child is exempted from this instruction. In order to accomodate such a request, the parent/guardian must contact their child's school site to request a copy of a form that can be filled out and submitted back to the site as notification of their desire for the student to be removed/exempted from that particular unit of instruction.
