To Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

The State Department of Education released its new letter grade report card today to parents and its community members as part of Oklahoma's new A-F School Grading System.

Tinker Elementary received a letter grade of B, which reflects several different factors such as test results from all students, growth factors that compare test results from multiple years, along with whole school performance factors such as attendance, school surveys, and parent and community engagement.  Please click on the PDF attachment below to see the various components of our overall B letter grade.

The new A-F School Grading System was adopted by the Oklahoma State Legislature and signed into law in 2011 under House Bill 1456. This is the first year for the new report cards based on the system outlined in this legislation. House Bill 1456 defined the grades under this system as the following:

• "A" means the school is making excellent progress (9% of the schools in the state).
• "B" means the school is making above average progress (48% of the schools in the state).
• "C" means the school is making satisfactory progress (34% of the schools in the state).
• "D" means the school is making less than satisfactory progress (8% of the schools in the state).
• "F" means the school is failing to make adequate progress (1% of the schools in the state).

If you have any questions about the new A-F School Grading System, or our school's grade, please feel free to contact me at 405-739-7630. Thank you for your continued support and assistance in making sure that all of our students are College, Career, and Citizen Ready!

Sincerely,

Wendy Eaton
Principal
Tinker Elementary School
