ECOCDA Honor Choir (optional event) 7th and 8th grade singers Auditions are 1st Monday of October for membership into the 3 select honor choirs. Audition fee is $10 which includes the audition and transportation to OBU. Students who are selected from these auditions will owe an additional $20 for participation fees, Tshirt and transportation to the 2 day event in Guthrie. Honor choir is Nov 7 & 8 ... Parent concert at Masonic Temple, Guthrie, 7pm * * * * * CTSWS honor choir (optional event) GIRLS ONLY GROUP! $25 Participation fee is due Sept 29 and includes Tshirt and lunch Our CTSWS group numbers 250+ and is held Mar 3, 2012 at Yukon High School We will practice the music for this event during class and have a fantastic day making music with other students from across the OKC Metro area! * * * * * Talent Shows (optional event) We give ALL JARMAN students the opportunity to be involved in the Talent shows. rules for participation ... "C" grade average in ALL YOUR CLASSES teacher recommendation form signed by parents NO OFFICE REFERALS for 6 weeks prior to the date of the show you must provide your own CD to sing/dance with only acts that are prepared on audition dates will be heard 2 shows through out the day are free to parents ... a schedule will be posted * * * * * OU MEN'S VOCAL WORKSHOP MEN ONLY EVENT all men are expected to attend/this is sponsored by a grant Over 850 guys grades 6-12 gather at OU to spend the day singing in 3 select choirs. Part of this event is to get a feel for the college campus, tour the football stadium and make music with other guys for a whole day ... it's amazing what sounds they produce!!! PLUS we get a great Tshirt and lunch!!! Bus transportation ... 8am to 6pm ... PICK UP AT SCHOOL THAT NIGHT PLEASE! * * * * * JMS WINTER Concert - GRADED EVENT This concert is scheduled for late January or early March. CONCERT UNIFORMS You get to hear the music we've been working on so far this year! PLUS you get a sneek preview of our contest songs! ... 6pm * * * * * JMS Vocal Workshop / CONTEST - GRADED EVENT This is our inhouse version of contest. Solos and the large choir groups will perform for ratings and the judges will have time to work with us to improve our sound and singing techniques. They are encouraged to practice good typing habits at home when they are working on projects or visiting free sites such as www.freetypinggame.net to practice their skills Daily grades are given on participation during class as well as completion grades of online projects. |
