![]() Hello Students! Welcome to (or back to) Midwest City High School! This will be my 28th year at MCHS and I look forward to working with you this coming school year. In addition to teaching the classes you see listed below, I also sponsor the Junior Class and I am the National Honor Society advisor. If you have questions about either of these two organizations, please email me using the 'Contact Mrs. Bailey' button at the left. |
![]() Hi Parents, I wanted to share a site with you about study skills provided to Freshmen entering Texas A & M.... http://scs.tamu.edu/selfhelp/elibrary/basic_study_techniques.asp I usually print this off for my students (with a little editing:) but I wanted you to be aware of the techniques, too. Your student should be bringing home all of their school books nightly. It is important to me that you understand the difference between 'homework' and 'study.' As you probably are aware, they are not the same thing. Just like athletics, band, and choir, academics requires 'practice' - in academics, this means study. Students need to read/review chapters, notes, and homework on a regular basis, not just before a test. This is a habit that must be established in high school in order for success to occur at the college/university level - when you are not there to 'persuade' them to study. I also hope you are aware of 'Parent Connet' which allows you to monitor your student's academic progress on-line and of the tutoring available at MCHS. |
